Make a concept map like the one below of the three types of rocks. Include
- The three types (categories) of rocks
- How each type of rock is formed

Make a table of the four most common minerals found in Illinois, what they are used for, and tell which one is the most common mineral found in Illinois.
Level 3
What are Everyday uses of Common Minerals? (20 points)
- List 5-6 minerals and their uses.
- Choose one mineral to write a persuasive letter about as follows: You work in a mine and the company is threatening to close the mine. Write a letter persuading the owners of the mine not to close. Include the different uses your mineral has in your explanation of why the mine should stay open.
