ROOTS AND WORDS QUIZ #2

in - into
ferre - bring
evidentia - obvious to the eye
videre - to see
evidence - information that leads to a conclusion
appendage - extends or sticks out
outlier - something out of the ordinary

Study tip and extra credit: Write words that contain the above roots or words in a sentence that shows you understand the meaning of each root or word.
Example: It is quite evident to me who studied for this quiz, all of those students got A's.

Don't forget: One word from Quiz #1 will be on the quiz, so review those words as well.

Write sentences using each of the following words about the squid dissection.

Level 1,2,3

1. dorsal - back
2. ventral - abdomen (Stomach)
3. posterior - behind
4. anterior - in front
5. distal - away from the origin
6. medial - middle
7. buccal - mouth
8. ganglia - bundle of neurons (nerve cells)
9. cerebral - brain
10. pedal - foot

Level 2,3 add these words:

13. brachial - arm
14. chroma - color

Alternate activity for those NOT dissecting Squid:
Write sentences using each of the above words about the human nervous system using
Brain Pop (Brain Pop user name: phyllisfrick, password: frick) information about the nervous system, neurons, brain and spinal cord OR chapter four, section one in your textbook.
Also, take the quizzes on 2-3 of the Nervous System Brain Pop videos.
